About The Position
CFHW offers a paid, 12-week Dental Assistant Training Program designed to help individuals build real skills, gain certification, and launch into a healthcare career. While this program does not lead to employment with CFHW, graduates leave job-ready with the skills, certification, and support needed to secure a Dental Assistant role in the community. The program covers understanding tooth anatomy, procedures, dental terminology, building relationships with dentists to anticipate needs, working with a team to maintain schedule by assisting with tasks like cleaning rooms, sterilizing instruments, loading x-rays, doing notes, and setting up for patients, and educating patients on oral health and post-op care. The training takes place in a fast-paced, team-based care environment.

- Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Passion for the dental fields

- Predict needs by being observant and can jump into action
- Skillful with organizing and prioritizing your work
Responsibilities
- Understand tooth anatomy, tooth numbers, procedures, and dental terminology
- Build a relationship with the dentist to anticipate their needs and save time
- Work with a team of 2-3 other assistants to help each other with tasks that keep on schedule, such as help clean the rooms, sterilize instruments, load the x-ray, do notes, and set up for the next patient
- Educate patients on oral health and post-op care
- Work as part of a fast-paced, team-based care environment
