About The Position

Perform various clerical functions associated with providing service to customers in a computerized customer service centre. Provide service to customers on the telephone in a way that builds positive, effective customer relations. Receive and process incoming calls from customers, contractors, supply authorities, fire departments, etc. regarding Inspection products and services; collect customer feedback and explain and encourage the public to use the services provided. Receive enquiries from, and make calls to customers and the public to provide information on the services provided and on corporate marketing programs. Process applications, fee payments, credit notes, correspondence from lawyers, government agencies, power supply authorities, and fire departments, building departments, requests for refunds and general correspondence. Input and retrieve information in a variety of specialized computer programs and update various databases for others to retrieve information. Access computerized accounting system to perform various accounts receivable activities. Attempt to resolve delinquent accounts and account discrepancies with customers, as per established processes and procedures. Provide a scheduling service for electrical inspections (Special Inspections) for Inspectors (Field Evaluation Inspectors) across the province. Access computerized accounting system to perform various accounts receivable activities.

Requirements

  • Good knowledge of English/French language.
  • Knowledge of software packages.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in keyboard operation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Good knowledge of data processing.
  • Good knowledge of computerized accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in standard word processing and spreadsheet software to input, update and extract data and to produce correspondence.
  • Experience in bookkeeping.
  • Experience in accounting.
  • Experience dealing with the public.
  • Experience to understand the electrical inspection (FEI) office clerical procedures, forms, and formats.
  • Experience to understand the Inspection Fee Schedule (IFS).
  • Experience to understand accounting procedures.
  • Experience to gain a basic understanding of inspection code and the non-technical rules and regulations.
  • Familiarity with electrical inspection terminologies used, in order to deal with enquiries from customers and contractors.
  • Experience in the operation of call centre computer equipment and systems.
  • Over one year up to and including two years of experience.
