Futurpreneur is a national non-profit organization that empowers young, diverse entrepreneurs, ages 18-39 to start, buy or grow their businesses in Canada, by providing loans with mentorship and resources. As a Bilingual Communications & Content Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting our Communications & Content team, part of Futurpreneur’s Marketing & Communications team. You will assist in the execution and monitoring of Futurpreneur’s overall communications initiatives, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. Reporting to the Communications & Content Manager, you'll coordinate a variety of projects ranging from initiatives linked to owned, earned and paid channels, including but not limited to the website, the blog and our social channels, to collaborating on the development and the rollout of the content plan, while adhering to Futurpreneur's brand guidelines and standards. This position is perfect for a self-starter with a keen eye for detail and a knack for prioritizing actions that drive growth. This existing role is full-time, temporary 12 month contract, based in our Montreal or Toronto office, operating under a hybrid work model (minimum 2 days in the office per week).

Requirements

  • Relevant experience may include education with a focus on marketing, communications or the equivalent hands-on career experience.
  • At least two years’ experience in communications in a bilingual role, with proven writing experience in both official languages.
  • Strong experience translating and proofreading in both official languages.
  • Client or agency-side experience with non-profits, entrepreneurship, financing and/or banking considered an asset.
  • Digital fluency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Canva, WordPress, Sprout Social, various social media platforms and Monday.com.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, email marketing programs, AI Platforms and social media would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated creativity and proficiency in creative writing, storytelling and ideation, and visual asset production, including images and videos.
  • Bilingualism in French & English (spoken & written) is required as you will be required to work daily with non-bilingual team members and/or clients across Canada and at Futurpreneur’s head office in Toronto.
  • Clear and confident communicator, skilled at engaging and connecting with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the Communications & Content Manager, write/edit/proofread bilingual internal and external communications, including but not limited to, blog articles, social posts, newsletter/email copy, ad copy, video scripts, etc., ensuring it reflects OQLF standards, flawless grammar, syntax and tone while adhering to organizational brand and style guidelines.
  • Assist with the translation of English content to French when required, ensuring it reflects OQLF standards, and adheres to organizational brand and style guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., marketing, programs, partnerships) to source compelling stories, gather input and translate complex organizational data into clear, compelling narratives for stakeholders and funding partners.
  • Write, design and send the bi-monthly Vibe newsletter in English and French, curating the content and gathering all input from multiple stakeholders across the organization.
  • Assist the regional and programs teams in producing and publishing content for internal and external initiatives, including the Core Startup Program, Indigenous Entrepreneur Startup Program, Black Entrepreneur Startup Program, Side Hustle Program and others.
  • Coordinate ad hoc content requests from team members across the organization.
  • Work closely with the Social Media Content Specialist to develop/maintain a content calendar and coordinate the production of bilingual social posts across our channels, including capturing/editing video, images and key takeaways for Futurpreneur social channels.
  • Handle administrative duties such as maintaining content calendars and coordinating with external agencies or suppliers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
