About The Position
Del Sol Furniture finances its own customers through an in-house lending company. As a collector, you will work with real customers who bought furniture from the company and are seeking payment solutions. The goal is to find a payment arrangement that works for both the customer and the company, while maintaining a positive relationship. The role requires a bilingual collector who can conduct difficult conversations respectfully, negotiate payment arrangements, and consistently meet performance targets.
Requirements
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- 1+ year of experience in collections, accounts receivable, loan servicing, or a similar role involving payment conversations.
- A proven track record of hitting targets.
- Ability to negotiate firmly but not aggressively.
- Persistent and resilient with strong documentation habits.
- Comfortable learning new software.
Responsibilities
- Call customers with past-due accounts in English and Spanish to arrange payment plans.
- Adhere to company policies and all applicable state and federal consumer lending regulations.
- Accurately document all conversations and payment agreements in the company system.
- Collaborate with credit and customer service teams to resolve account issues before they become delinquent.
- Meet or exceed monthly goals for collections, call volume, and follow-up.
- Handle upset customers with composure and professionalism.
