YWCA Rock County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The Alternatives to Violence (AVP) program provides safe, confidential, and sensitive services to domestic violence victims and their minor children, sexual assault victims and their minor children and victims of human trafficking through a 24-hour helpline and text line, emergency shelter, supportive case management services, legal advocacy, and support groups for residents, walk-in clients and community members. The Child & Family Advocate is responsible for implementing and evaluating child and family programming and services, including some legal advocacy. This role also assists in the training of volunteers, interns and new staff.
