About The Position

EnCircle is seeking a dynamic Bilingual Case Support Specialist for its foster care program for unaccompanied immigrant children. This program, part of the Immigration and Refugee Services division and in partnership with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (LIRS), serves unaccompanied children in the custody of the Office of Refugee Resettlement who are living with foster families. The primary responsibility is to assist Case Managers with documentation, client contact, and foster parent contact. The role also involves providing transportation for clients and assisting with scheduling appointments. The specialist may perform case management support services, including family reunification, ensuring child safety, maintaining documentation, and assisting with court appearances. The position requires functioning effectively with moderate supervision while adhering to agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma plus 3 years paid experience working with youth required.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish, required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit an ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving.
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service.
  • Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks.
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
  • Work well under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
  • Active motor vehicle license and a reliable vehicle with adequate insurance coverage.
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
  • Willing and able to be on an on-call rotation and work a variable schedule including weekend and evening hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services plus one year either paid internship or volunteer experience working with youth preferred.
  • Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations is preferred.
  • Trauma-informed training for serving immigrant or vulnerable populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Case Managers with essential paperwork and documentation.
  • Provide case management support to the case managers and assist with the coordination of community referrals.
  • Ensure the child’s safety while in care.
  • Administer case notes and documentation within the UC Portal in a timely manner based on guidelines and procedures set forth.
  • Assist Case Managers in maintaining contact with clients and foster families.
  • Coordinate meetings with foster parents and foster children at least monthly.
  • Assist Case Managers in maintaining accurate and up-to-date information on foster children in care in accordance with ORR and internal documentation standards and reporting requirements.
  • Collaboratively work with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work duties.
  • Attend training as required by supervisor.
  • Transport and accompany youth to immigration hearings or procedures, as requested.
  • Provide transportation to clients for but not limited to medical appointments, and other social agencies.
  • Schedule and prioritize work duties in partnership with supervisor and other team members.
  • Report transportation problems that occur and impede timely transportation request.
  • Stay abreast of all agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements related to social services.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
