About The Position

For over 100 years, St Vincent de Paul of Seattle | King County has provided critical aid to impoverished, underserved, and vulnerable populations throughout the Puget Sound Region. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bilingual-Case Manager to join our dynamic team. This position works in South King County with other Community-Based Organizations and Catholic parishes to provide case management services and to advocate for individuals and families in need of services, create comprehensive responses to address economic, legal, education and health vulnerabilities. In this role, you will help identify and bridge gaps in services while providing culturally relevant and specialized progressive case management service for individuals and families in South King County. The position requires traveling to various sites to support the larger mission and engage in home visits from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, pastoral skills, or in a related field and 4+ years of direct relevant work or volunteer experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish speaking ability is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ease in addressing groups of clients and communicating with diverse workgroups.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, safety manuals, and regulations.
  • Applicant must have the ability to write reports.
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office software is required.
  • Familiarity with client-based software and email communications will be essential to regular communications and reporting.
  • Must have the ability and creativity in resolving practical societal problems quickly and in situations where there is limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is needed.
  • Must have the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Must be able to understand common financial reports, payroll records, and cash management reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s in Social Work or a related field preferred.
  • Social work related trainings and certificates are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide services such as planning, coordination, and application of progressive case management activities for individuals or families, some with multiple barriers.
  • Additional assistance may be given to individuals experiencing homelessness, formerly incarcerated, unemployed, experiencing mental and/or behavioral health concerns.
  • Helps to promote social justice, equity, and inclusion by connecting individuals and groups to resources, services, and opportunities. Address systemic issues and barriers that prevent marginalized communities from accessing the support they need.
  • Maintain extensive working knowledge of resources available to the community as well as public benefits and community organizations, ensuring that families have access to resources to the greatest extent possible.
  • Coordinate and guide individuals through complex medical, legal, or social service frameworks.
  • Support program outreach activities to inform the community about the services available, as needed.
  • Provide information, referrals, and advocacy to link individuals and their families to appropriate services in a timely manner.
  • Work within all existing policies and procedures for enrolling new clients and follow-up on existing clients.
  • Maintain client progress notes, assistance and outcomes are up to date, which includes caseload reports to determine measurable results for grants.
  • Assist in maintaining records of the disbursement of all check requests, vouchers, bus tickets and any other form of financial aid for individuals and families on caseload by using the client database and developing monthly activity reports.
  • Work in coordination with other SVdP staff and volunteers in parishes to assist individuals and families in receiving holistic, progressive and individualized support services towards self-sufficiency.
  • Use CBT, Motivational Interviewing and reflective listening to support individuals and family to achieve their goals. Stay up to date on other evidence-based practices, participate in subsequent trainings and adhere to those practices.
  • Develop working relationships with other providers and service agencies, especially those who work with a similar population.
