Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of trauma and willingness to be trained in the Sanctuary Model of Care
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to provide language interpretation services
  • Ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
  • Reliability with time-sensitive deadlines and tasks
  • Ability to pass required medical examinations and fulfill essential job functions, including physical restraints of a resident
  • Successfully pass an annual TB test and document preference to receive or decline Hepatitis immunization
  • Exhibit integrity and good moral character
  • Possess relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with clients and clients with special needs, and be properly trained and licensed as necessary
  • Ability to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route (TDap or Tdap)
  • Provide results of medical examination (as required by State Licensing, including TB tests and immunization records)
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
  • Maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation to clients for medical appointments, legal appointments, hearings, and other social agencies.
  • Report client behavior during transportation to foster parents and the treatment team.
  • Provide assistance with intake and discharge related transportation, including state-to-state travel for reunification with a sponsor.
  • Assist the medical team with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Provide language interpretation to clients for appointments in the community.
  • Provide supervision of youth in the classroom when needed.
  • Ensure professional boundaries are established and maintained at all times, especially when supervising youth.
  • Maintain knowledge of trauma and attend continuous training in the Sanctuary Model of Care to ensure compliance with a trauma-informed environment.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event.
