Requirements

  • High-school level education or equivalency
  • Medical Assistant Certification
  • Must maintain BLS /CPR
  • Spanish fluency
  • Demonstrated competency with an EHRS system
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment.
  • Above average organizational skills.
  • Strong typing and computer skills.
  • This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadline and decision making responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of experience in an ambulatory clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work with onsite nursing or follow protocol-based triage to address patient phone calls and route clinical inquiries to providers.
  • Return calls and communicate results as directed.
  • Review patient schedules daily, ensure lab results and consultation reports are available, and gather necessary information.
  • Assist in arranging interpretation services and participate in daily huddles.
  • Manage transitions of care, support access to ancillary services, and maintain the Care Coordination Desktop.
  • Assist with medication refills and prior-authorizations.
  • Initiate and complete forms for review and final signature by the provider.
  • Address urgent requests promptly.
  • Complete referrals, deliver clinical summaries for consultants, and ensure relevant documents are included in patient records.
  • Promote effective working relations to facilitate goal achievement and adhere to safety training and equipment operation.
