About The Position

Genius Road, LLC is seeking an experienced BI Platform Administrator to manage and support enterprise business intelligence platforms, primarily Microsoft Power BI, with backup administration responsibilities for Tableau. The role combines hands-on dashboard development with platform administration, security, governance, performance optimization, and end-user support. The position is located in Austin, Texas, and requires onsite work four days per week; candidates must already reside in the Austin area. The contract duration is 12 months.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of experience administering, implementing, or supporting enterprise BI and analytics platforms.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, datasets, and semantic models.
• At least 4 years of Power BI administration experience, including tenant settings, workspaces, gateways, security, and governance.
• At least 4 years of experience troubleshooting reporting, performance, connectivity, and data refresh issues.
• At least 3 years of Microsoft Fabric administration, implementation, or platform support.
• At least 3 years developing automated reporting, platform administration, or data integration solutions.
• At least 2 years of Tableau Server or Tableau Cloud administration experience.
• At least 2 years supporting enterprise analytics governance programs, standards, or operating models.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and support technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must already reside in the Austin area.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Power BI environment, including tenant settings, workspaces, datasets, semantic models, dataflows, gateways, licensing, and security.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Establish and maintain platform governance standards, workspace management processes, naming conventions, and deployment practices.
• Monitor platform performance, utilization, reliability, and adoption; identify and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot reporting, connectivity, access, and data refresh issues.
• Provide technical support, user training, documentation, and guidance to promote self-service analytics.
• Serve as a backup administrator for Tableau, supporting platform operations, permissions, governance, and content management.
• Support platform upgrades, migrations, integrations, vendor coordination, incident resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
