About The Position

Merakey is seeking a PRN Bilingual Facility Attendant to join their team at the Fresh Start transitional housing program in Philadelphia, PA. This program provides 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and/or varying degrees of behavioral health issues. The Fresh Start program has over 150 beds across 12 locations in Philadelphia and partners with the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and Philadelphia's Office of Addiction Services. Self-pay housing options are also available for indefinite stays.

Requirements

Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
High School or GED required
Effective communication skills
18 years old minimum required

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with VA population preferred
Prior experience in residential or drug and alcohol treatment setting is preferred

Responsibilities

Monitor residents' behavior to ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery.
Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety, including all rooms.
Complete incident reporting, including writing incident reports.
Report immediately to Supervisor program manager and follow procedures as stated in Merakey policy.
Monitor residents while they take their prescribed medication.
Report all medication monitoring issues to immediate supervisor and follow Merakey incident report policy.
Monitor assigned chores (if applicable) and ensure that general inspections (GIs) are done properly.
Complete assigned training within mandated time frames.
