About The Position

Compassion Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Supervisor to lead and support our Behavioral Health Technician team at its residential location in Hollywood FL. The BHT Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the BHT department during assigned shifts, ensuring quality patient care, staff accountability, and adherence to all program policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for behavioral health and substance use treatment, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of supervising direct-care staff in a healthcare, behavioral health, or residential treatment setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals receiving mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services.
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a residential treatment setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and support Behavioral Health Technicians during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage and assign daily responsibilities.
  • Monitor patient activities and therapeutic milieu to maintain a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and ongoing staff development.
  • Assist with staff training, onboarding, and competency evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with program policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to patient concerns, behavioral incidents, and crisis situations as needed.
  • Complete and review shift documentation, incident reports, and other required records.
  • Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and leadership teams to support quality patient care.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and communicate important information to staff.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and departmental meetings.
