The Bullhead City “BHC” Shelter Safety & Training Lead supports the daily safety, security, and stability of the shelter environment for guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Provide leadership to the House Support Specialist team and assist program manager with assigned duties. This position is responsible for conducting regular inside and outside safety checks, monitoring common areas, responding to safety concerns, enforcing shelter rules and expectations, and using trauma-informed de-escalation practices to help maintain a calm, respectful, and low-barrier shelter setting. The BHC Shelter serves men, women, veterans, and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. The Lead is expected to approach all guests with dignity, respect, cultural humility, and professionalism while helping ensure that clearly stated shelter expectations are followed consistently and fairly. The BHC Shelter Safety & Training Lead plays a key role in helping CCCS create and maintain a safe, trauma-informed, low-barrier environment for all guests and staff. This role requires consistent professionalism, strong boundaries, compassion, accountability, and a commitment to treating every person with dignity while supporting the shelter’s mission of help and hope.
