About The Position

The Sanitarian is expected to understand and engage in Sanitation activities in their area of responsibility. This role is directly responsible for ensuring a high-quality, safe product while minimizing damage, meeting customer expectations, and ensuring a safe work environment and practices. The Sanitation Associate will be responsible for working in multiple positions, completing day-to-day requirements, and interacting with other departments on project-related issues. This position will include working at any Bama Facility.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Understand guidelines for food safety and sanitation.
• Experience with sit down forklift operation.
• Assist with Inventory control process.
• Demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Proven safety record in past work history.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist in maintaining chemicals and equipment needed to clean and sanitize lines and facility.
• Record usage records of strengths of chemical use at the facility.
• Follow Sanitation procedure and possess the ability to drive continuous improvement.
• Understand and follow quality standards.
• Understand and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) in work area and all plant areas.
• Identify, correct, and improve potential safety items: both human and food.
• Assist in troubleshooting failures and identify corrective actions.
• Assist with needed accident investigation and completion of follow-up reporting.
• Participate in plant initiatives (i.e., safety programs, quality audits, and productivity) and team involvement.
• Understand Manufacturing guidelines for food safety, food security, and sanitation.
• Assist in maintaining daily housekeeping of the facility and grounds to be audit ready at all times.
