About The Position

The Beverage Packaging Lead at Uinta is a "player-coach" role responsible for the technical execution of beverage packaging operations. This is a high-speed equipment operating position where you will lead a team in transitioning beer from Brite tanks into its final shelf-ready form, overseeing filling, canning, kegging, and secondary packaging processes. The Lead acts as the technical expert on the floor, ensuring equipment optimization, quality standards, and team mentorship.

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Previous experience in beverage packaging or high-speed food manufacturing (required).
  • Advanced understanding of pressurized systems and automated production machinery.
  • Proven ability to coach others, give constructive feedback, and lead a team through complex production days without direct supervision.
  • Forklift operation is required (training and certification will be provided).
  • Experience with Excel and data entry for production logging.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily start-up, operations, and shut-down protocols for high-speed canning and kegging lines.
  • Guide, mentor, and provide "on-the-job" training for Operators and Technicians to meet daily production targets.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the Scheduling Team and Packaging Manager, adapting to shifting production needs.
  • Conduct precise daily counts of raw materials (cans, ends, labels, cartons, cases) and finished goods for efficient production and accurate inventory.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for all packaging machinery, including can filler/seamer, de-palletizer, pasteurizer, secondary packers, and keg cleaning/filling.
  • Anticipate mechanical issues, perform real-time adjustments, and conduct minor preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team to address technical issues for efficient daily operations.
  • Ensure all cans, kegs, and finished goods packages meet Uinta’s Quality and aesthetic standards.
  • Oversee a clean, "tour-ready" production floor.
  • Manage the safe handling of CIP (Clean-in-Place) chemicals.
