About The Position

This person is responsible for overseeing the staff and operations of the bar, including planning, controlling and ordering of beverages. The role involves ensuring bar logistics efficiency, creating new beverage offerings, managing staff training, monitoring bar performance, maintaining beverage quality, managing costs, updating pricing, ensuring menu accuracy, and supporting both bar and dining room service. The Beverage Manager also plays a key role in fostering a training culture and reporting on daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing staff and operations of the bar.
  • Planning, controlling, and ordering of beverages.
  • Ensuring bar logistics efficiency, including setup, staffing, and product display.
  • Creating new beverage offerings (cocktails, wine by the glass, new liquor brands).
  • Developing and delivering all staff beverage training and materials.
  • Reviewing bar performance, including sales, revenues, item popularity, and promotional items.
  • Reviewing bar and lounge policies and procedures for efficiency and accuracy (liquor stocking, inventory counts, storage).
  • Ensuring adherence to current safety procedures.
  • Maintaining the quality of all beverages to brand standards.
  • Monitoring par levels for wines, beers, and liquors.
  • Ensuring the quality and seasonality of beverage, beer, and cocktail offerings.
  • Ordering all beverages (except wine) according to restaurant procedures.
  • Maintaining target Cost of Goods Sold (COG) levels.
  • Updating beverage pricing to reflect market values.
  • Driving sales growth for the bar and lounge.
  • Ensuring accuracy of all bar and lounge menus and POS postings.
  • Assisting the General Manager with the bar/lounge schedule.
  • Responding to all guest requests.
  • Organizing tastings of new cocktails with product descriptions and study materials for staff.
  • Concluding daily operation notes in the Avero report/log.
  • Handling beverage updates in the POS system.
  • Assisting guests with beverage selections and overseeing service quality in the bar and lounge.
  • Monitoring correct POS punching for beverages on guest checks.
  • Communicating and resolving beverage-related issues among staff.
  • Supporting bar/lounge and dining room staff with beverage-related tasks.
  • Completing closing checklists for bar/lounge/dining room.
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor with staff.
  • Assisting staff with service upon request.
  • Being accessible to staff for beverage questions and participating in daily pre-shift meetings.
  • Following and communicating training manual procedures to staff.
