About The Position

Bog & Barley is seeking a Beverage Manager to lead its bar program. This role involves owning the cocktail, whiskey, beer, and wine lists, managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, setting menu prices, conducting inventory and cost reviews, and meeting pour-cost and labor targets. The Beverage Manager will also be responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, and developing bartenders and servers, as well as assisting the General Manager with daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, floor leadership, guest recovery, and managing the events program. This is a leadership position with opportunities for growth within the Brazen Restaurant Group.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience leading a bar or beverage program in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or bar (Beverage Manager, Bar Manager, Lead Bartender with management scope, or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of spirits, particularly whiskey, as well as a working command of beer, wine, and cocktail techniques.
  • Comfort with business aspects including pour cost, inventory, menu engineering, POS and inventory software, scheduling tools, and P&L discussions.
  • A coach's mindset with experience in training, scheduling, and maintaining standards.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to be on your feet for a full shift.

Responsibilities

  • Create and own the cocktail, whiskey, beer, and wine lists.
  • Implement innovative beverage offerings such as whiskey flights and pairings, draft and batched cocktails, seasonal spritzes, low/no-ABV options, and popular cocktails.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing.
  • Set menu pricing.
  • Run weekly inventory and cost reviews.
  • Achieve pour-cost and labor targets.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and develop bartenders and servers.
  • Develop training programs for staff to ensure excellent guest interactions.
  • Assist the General Manager with daily operations, including opening and closing.
  • Provide floor leadership and guest recovery.
  • Manage the events program, including whiskey dinners, tastings, and private parties.
