About The Position

The Beverage Assistant Manager oversees the daily operations of the Beverage Department, ensuring compliance with all health, liquor, safety regulations, and applicable laws. This role involves monitoring and developing staff performance, managing employee relations, and handling customer grievances. The position requires a high level of departmental training, collaboration with management on operational improvements, and assisting with special events as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED.
Three (3) years of beverage management or supervisory experience required.
Two (2) years of event or convention food & beverage or high bar environment OR one (1) year as a Bar Manager.
Must have valid Alcohol Awareness & Food Handlers cards.
Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and special events, as needed.
Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening in accordance with company policy.
Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
Must be able to obtain and retain a valid gaming license/background check.
Must be able to lift, carry, and transport materials and/or equipment frequently up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to reach high areas, stoop, pull, push, kneel, squat, twist, grip, and bend for duties.
Must be able to work at and travel to all CDS properties.
Must be able to follow both verbal and written directions.
Must be able to read, write, and effectively communicate with all guests and team members positively and professionally.
Must be able to work in environments with high noise levels, flashing lights, smoking areas, and large crowds.
Must be able to work in a high-pressure/fast-paced environment.
Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by two-way radio, telephone, and written correspondence.
Knowledge of beverage purchasing, inventory control, and scheduling.
Knowledge of bar areas and tools and items used to complete duties.
Planning, organizational, and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Skill in working courteously with guests as well as developing and maintaining good working relationships.
Ability to multitask and make sound decisions.
Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations of the position.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Nice To Haves

United States Bartenders’ Guild of Spirits Professional Certification.
Associate's degree in a hospitality-related program.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

Oversees the daily operations of the Beverage department.
Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor, and safety regulations, as well as all federal, state, and local applicable laws.
Monitors job performances of all the Beverage department employees and provides feedback on the same to aid the employees in developing and enhancing skills.
Monitors performance of direct reports and approves performance appraisals.
Reviews and approves all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign, and discipline all employees fairly and equitably.
Responsible for the scheduling, evaluating, and training of the Beverage department employees, ensuring staff’s compliance with all customer service standards.
Responsible for listening to, evaluating, and assuring control of customer grievances.
Must maintain constant awareness of services, promotions, and events to inform personnel.
Must possess the ability to perform a high level of departmental training.
Confers with beverage manager and upper management concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.
Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
Responsible for assisting with AVA Amphitheater and other events that upper management requires.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
