About The Position

The Berklee Global Student Photographer and Assistant plays a dual role in visually capturing department events and supporting day-to-day administrative operations. Primary responsibilities include photographing event programming, photo editing, and digital asset management. During non-event periods, the position supports operational logistics for key initiatives such as Berklee on the Road, Berklee Latino, and the Berklee Global Partner network. This role offers practical experience in professional photography, marketing asset creation, database management, and administrative office operations.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Schedule flexibility to attend department events
  • Operational experience with Nikon Digital Camera D5200 or similar device;
  • Strong verbal and written English skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organization, and the ability to work independently with attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential information;
  • Strong knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and social media platforms is essential;

Nice To Haves

  • Additional language skills preferred, particularly Spanish;
  • Ideal candidates include transfer students from Berklee Global Partner schools, past participants of Berklee on the Road programs, or past participants of any other Berklee global programs.

Responsibilities

  • Act as lead photographer for Berklee Global events—including masterclasses, concerts, partner visits, retreats, and others;
  • Serve as the front line of the department and assist with reception of in-person visitors to the office; answer the department phone for any inquiries about programs and events
  • Respond to email inquiries and assist in managing the department’s email correspondence, escalating messages to supervisors as necessary;
  • Enter, organize, and synthesize photos, information, files, and other data into department databases (Google Drive, Sheets, Excel, FileMaker, etc.);
  • Create and produce event-specific content, including promotional materials and graphics for social media and newsletters;
  • Assist with general office tasks, including office inventory, pickup and delivery of supplies around campus, and assistance with on-campus event setup;
  • Maintain professional demeanor in an office setting and department events.
