Benefits Verification Specialist
About The Position
The Benefits Verification Specialist verifies insurance eligibility and interprets plan benefits for hospice and palliative care patients, including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial plans. The role includes assisting with reverifications throughout the month to confirm members remain active and working with the claims team on denials, corrections, adjustments, and reducing bad debt caused by policy limitations. The position is remote and scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Standard Time. Compensation is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour, with offers based on experience.
Requirements
- At least 2–3 years of insurance verification as a primary responsibility in a role.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to the hospice and palliative philosophy of care.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work closely with a variety of people while effectively using problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in hospice or physician-office benefit verifications.
