About The Position

The Benefits Specialist supports the administration of employee benefit programs including medical, dental, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, COBRA, long term disability, retirement plans, and ancillary benefits. This role ensures accurate processing, maintains required documentation, and assists with compliance across federal, state, and plan-specific regulations. The benefits specialist understands how benefits data in the HRIS is connected to vendor and carrier platforms to facilitate and monitor seamless integrations, as well as to troubleshoot when errors occur. This individual also has strong communication skills and builds strong internal relationships through benefits team communications, trainings, and meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Excel skills, including data organization and reporting to support accurate benefits administration and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to analyze benefits‑related data and generate accurate reports to perform audits and compliance reviews.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and high‑volume workflows with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to support accurate benefits processing, employee inquiries, and compliance documentation.
  • Demonstrates team and customer service excellence orientation.
  • Strong problem‑solving and critical thinking skills used to investigate benefits issues and provide clear, timely resolutions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of sensitive employee data.
  • Ability to identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and employee experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification.
  • If the position requires driving, a valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment.
