About The Position

Spee Dee Delivery is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join their Benefits department. This role involves accurately entering data, analyzing reports, and performing audits. The company, founded in 1978, specializes in standard, next-day ground delivery and has grown to employ over 1,800 people across the Midwest, with corporate headquarters in St. Cloud, MN.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of employment, workers' compensation, and benefits law and practices.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits or human resources preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Payroll Department to ensure proper deduction or reversal of specific transactions.
  • Prepare, track and coordinate with Payroll department employee payment plans for balances in arrears.
  • Gather data, create, and analyze scheduled reports.
  • Record, process, and document information relating to work-related injuries, including upkeep of scheduling database.
  • Update and coordinate non-litigated workers' compensation claim files with gathered information.
  • Accept inbound calls from employees and vendors, discuss rates, and obtain, record, and process information regarding work-related injuries. Also provide on-site support to employees in St. Cloud.
  • Provide benefit information and support to employees.
  • Perform monthly benefit billing audits and audits involving employee deduction records.
  • Monitor company attendance to determine eligibility for company sponsored benefit programs.
  • Cross train and serve as back-up to other Benefit Department staff regarding covering duties such as: requests for and distribution of benefit-related material, database management, and coordinating with outside vendors.
  • Participate and assist in scheduled meetings, trainings, and special projects as assigned by management.
  • Processes and maintains benefits billing records, ensuring accuracy, timely reconciliation, and compliance with internal procedures and vendor requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
