About The Position

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for administering and supporting the Company’s employee benefits programs. This role serves as primary point of contact for employees regarding all benefits-related inquiries. This position will manage core benefit offerings including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), voluntary benefits, and more, while also supporting unique on-site employee programs. This position manages all leave requests to include but is not limited to FMLA requests for eligible employees and leave of absence (medical and personal). This position requires a detail-oriented, highly organized professional who thrives in a collaborative HR environment.

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of employee benefits administration, including group health plans, retirement plans, and voluntary benefit offerings.
  • Working knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, HIPAA, and the ACA.
  • Keen attention to detail in all record management and communications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized and discreet in handling sensitive employee information.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to switch-task effectively without losing track of information.
  • Able to work in a diverse work environment with a lot of contact with front-line hourly employees.
  • Must understand and demonstrate a “Creekstone Proud” mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer day-to-day operations of the Company’s benefits programs.
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee benefits from initial enrollment, questions, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Manage open enrollment processes, including communications, system updates, and employee education.
  • Be the Company representative to the third-party broker and benefit parties.
  • Maintain accurate benefits records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate and timely benefits deductions.
  • Support all leave of absence administration activities and coordinate with relevant parties as appropriate.
  • Maintain benefit documentation and contribute to the development of employee-facing communications and resources.
  • Cross-train with the payroll department to learn and backfill any payroll duties such as timekeeping, reporting, garnishments, tax information, and payroll processing.
  • Back up payroll duties if the payroll supervisor is out of office or on vacation.
  • Run required benefit and payroll reports.
  • Ensure 100% customer service when working with any level of the organization.
