About The Position

The Benefits Specialist will administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, wellness, and ancillary plans. They will process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations, maintaining accurate records in HRIS and benefits systems. This role serves as the primary contact for employee benefit questions, claims issues, leave requests, workers' compensation, and benefit-related communications. The specialist will coordinate annual open enrollment activities, employee education, and enrollment follow-up. Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA requirements, is crucial. The role involves reconciling benefit invoices, coordinating payments, and working closely with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions. The Benefits Specialist will act as a liaison with insurance carriers, brokers, retirement plan providers, and other benefits vendors. Additionally, they will assist with audits, reporting, and ongoing administration of employee benefit programs, and support onboarding activities, including serving as a backup for new employee orientation.

Requirements

  • Associate degree
  • Two years’ Human Resources experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
