About The Position

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting in the administration and management of the company's employee benefits programs. This includes handling benefits enrollment, answering employee queries, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. The role requires staying informed about current benefits legislation and compliance requirements. Additionally, the Benefits Specialist supports the development and communication of benefits information to employees.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to work in office, onsite, Monday-Friday
  • 1 year of previous customer service, HR or benefits experience
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours on occasion to support our field operations

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and wellness initiatives
  • Assist employees in understanding benefit options, eligibility criteria, and enrollment procedures
  • Process benefit enrollment, changes, and terminations accurately and in a timely manner
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and provide support on benefit-related matters
  • Collaborate with benefit providers and vendors to ensure smooth plan administration and resolve issues
  • Assist in the preparation and communication of annual open enrollment materials and schedules
  • Conduct benefits orientations for new employees and coordinate educational sessions as needed
  • Assist with compliance efforts, including ERISA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements
  • Maintain benefits records and data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Generate reports and analyze benefit utilization and costs to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities
  • Support the Benefits Manager in negotiating contracts with benefit providers and vendors
  • Participate in wellness initiatives and employee engagement programs related to benefits
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of benefits-related policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the HR team to integrate benefits with other HR functions, such as payroll and leave management
  • Stay updated on changes in benefits laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
