About The Position

Handles the day-to-day processing and administration of our benefits programs, including new hire orientations, benefits enrollments and changes, leave and disability, and providing education on benefits programs and offerings. Acts as a liaison between the company, vendors, and team members to answer questions and resolve routine issues. Provides input on process improvements and supports benefits initiatives. Requirements

  • Highschool diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • 1+ years of relevant experience (i.e., benefits or leave administration, HR shared services, HR support, etc.) or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • Firm knowledge of leave laws and administration including FMLA, ADA, USERRA, short and long term disability plans
  • Skilled at benefits and leave administration with firm knowledge of employee benefits laws, regulations, and compliance requirements (i.e., ERISA, Section 125 Cafeteria Plans, COBRA, etc.)
  • Experience with and ability to support team member benefit or leave processes, including issues resolution, documentation, system updates, and/or coordination with Payroll, HR, or benefit vendors
  • Ability to research, interpret, and explain benefits and leave information to team members and managers with accuracy, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain benefits information to a diverse audience
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to handle situations with sensitivity and discretion
  • Solid issue-resolution skills with the ability to identify root cause, escalate appropriately, and follow through to resolution
  • Proficiency in relevant systems and technologies (i.e., HRIS, benefits administration platforms, vendor systems, Microsoft Office) with basic Excel skills including sorting, filtering, formatting, and basic formulas
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline when handling confidential team member benefit, medical, pay, and leave information
  • Solid multi-tasking, organization, coordination, and collaboration skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certifications related to benefits administration (e.g., CEBS, PHR, or SPHR)
  • Experience with UKG Pro and PlanSource benefits platform
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the administration of team member benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, supplemental health, disability, leave, and retirement plans.
  • Completes daily benefits processing, including enrollments, life event changes, dependent documentation, and Qualifying Medical Child Support Orders (QMCSO) ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Acts as a primary point of contact for team members regarding benefit-related inquiries and concerns. Helps team members resolve all benefit-related issues in an effective and timely manner escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Acts as a primary point of contact for team members, guiding them through leave options, eligibility requirements, benefit continuity, and the application process.
  • Processes and tracks all leave requests (FMLA / STD / PLOA / Military), completes premium payment forms, records and documents insurance premium payments.
  • Maintains and creates enrollment and leave reports/spreadsheets utilizing insurance provider and Microsoft Office software (Excel).
  • Collaborates with payroll and ensures that employer contributions, payroll deductions, and salaried disability pay are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Conducts team member benefits meetings, including new hire orientations, benefit/health fairs, and open enrollment information sessions.
  • Ensures team members are always kept up-to-date and educated on all available benefits and wellness programs. Provides benefits and leave education and consultation to team members and managers as needed.
  • Helps organize company initiatives associated with wellness, including health fairs and open enrollment engagement events.
  • Maintains a well-informed knowledge of the company benefit campaigns, vendor relationships, and enrollment processes.
