About The Position

The Benefits Program Administrator will join the Food & Nutrition Team and support many different roles within a very fast-paced environment. The BPA will support not only the ESD Program Managers and Benefit Program Assistant Administrators, but also the Food & Nutrition Program Director. This team is responsible for administering the 3SVT program (SNAP), and many other sub-programs. Collaboration with the USDA's Food & Nutrition Administration, community partners and advocates of VT, and many other state liaisons will be a part of day-to-day work. A high degree if independence and teamwork is required, managing many different priorities at once and shifting focus depending on business needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years or more at a professional level in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management INCLUDING two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties.
  • Master's degree AND two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management.
  • Two years of full-time college coursework OR associate's degree AND six (6) years or more at a professional level in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management INCLUDING two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties.
  • Eight (8) years of more at a professional level in human services, education, employment and training programs, policy development, data processing, or program management INCLUDING two (2) years or more of managerial or supervisory duties.
  • Pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Undergo Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment (unless a current classified state employee seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or exercising re-employment rights).

Responsibilities

  • Support ESD Program Managers and Benefit Program Assistant Administrators.
  • Support the Food & Nutrition Program Director.
  • Administer the 3SVT program (SNAP) and other sub-programs.
  • Collaborate with the USDA's Food & Nutrition Administration, community partners and advocates of VT, and other state liaisons.
  • Manage multiple priorities and shift focus based on business needs.
