Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Benefits Administration, Compliance, or HR Operations
  • Experience supporting audits (e.g., Deloitte, external auditors)
  • Experience in a complex, multi-vendor benefits environment
  • Strong knowledge of health & welfare benefits, 401(k), and ERISA
  • Experience with benefits compliance and regulatory reporting
  • Ability to analyze and validate large datasets across systems and vendors
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Experience with benefits integrations and vendor file management
  • Knowledge of retiree benefits administration and Medicare coordination

Nice To Haves

  • CEBS, SHRM-CP/SCP, or similar certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term, dedicated support to ensure compliance, audit readiness, and stabilization of benefits operations, with a focus on retiree benefits administration, regulatory requirements, and process control improvements during a critical period of operational demand.
  • Support ACA, 401(k), and benefits compliance activities; respond to audit requests; validate data and documentation (e.g., Deloitte audit support).
  • Manage retiree eligibility, enrollment, billing validation, and vendor coordination (medical, COBRA, Medicare-related plans).
  • Support governance for active and retiree populations; ensure alignment between plan design, system configuration, and vendor outputs.
  • Document SOPs, perform reconciliations, support control checks, and identify/remediate compliance gaps.
  • Partner with vendors (Aon, carriers, COBRA administrators) to resolve discrepancies and validate data across systems.
