About The Position

Under the direction of an administrator, perform a variety of technical, specialized, and/or complex duties to assist in the coordination and administration of the District's payroll and benefits programs, requiring comprehensive analysis and problem solving. Through work activities promote a culture of customer service and responsiveness, while ensuring that Payroll and Benefits objectives, goals, policies, rules, guidelines, and operating procedures are observed, reinforced, and maintained in support of District objectives. This position is designated as staff level.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED equivalent).
  • An Associate's Degree OR two (2) years of college-level course work in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible professional full-time work experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably in a public educational setting, which shows evidence of coordinating programs and employees.
  • At least one (1) year of experience performing specialized payroll and benefits processing, which includes using automated business systems at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Ability to speak, read, or write a language in addition to English may be required for some positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a public educational setting is preferred.

  • Work independently with limited direction in carrying out complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Troubleshoot a variety of commonly occurring problems.
  • Calmly handle suddenly developing complex problems and situations.
  • Make recommendations for improvement regarding day-to-day operations and procedures and departmental policy.
