About The Position

The Benefits Analyst at St. Charles Health System supports the administration of various employee benefit programs, such as health/dental/vision, retirement, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, life and disability coverage, time off plans, and additional voluntary benefits. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years progressively responsible experience supporting a human resources team.
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
Must be able to travel to all SCHS worksites.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to professionally interact with a diverse population, including all levels within SCHS and external customers/clients/potential employees; exudes a high level of discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive matters.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Share Point, database management, and document preparation.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interruptions.
Strong team working and collaborative skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Continually (75% or more): Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level.
Frequently (50%): Sitting, standing, walking, lifting 1-10 pounds, keyboard operation.
Occasionally (25%): Bending, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, carrying/pushing, or pulling 1-10 pounds, grasping/squeezing.
Rarely (10%): Stooping/kneeling/crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 11-15 pounds, operation of a motor vehicle.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Human Resources, or other related field.
Additional training or education in human resources.
Familiarity of basic HR laws, policies, and regulations as related to employment and benefits.
Prior benefits administration experience.

Responsibilities

Serves as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and customer-focused support.
Administers employee benefit programs including health & welfare plans, retirement and voluntary benefits through the HRIS (Workday).
Processes benefit enrollments, life events, terminations, and related transactions while ensuring data integrity and compliance.
Reconciles benefit eligibility, payroll deductions, carrier files, and vendor invoices; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Partners with benefit vendors, payroll, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate plan administration and seamless employee experience.
Supports benefits compliance activities, audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements including applicable federal and state regulations.
Assists with life insurance claims and other employee benefits-related case management.
Administers employee wellness programs, including vendor coordination, program promotion, incentive tracking, employee engagement initiatives, and participation reporting.
Plans and coordinates employee appreciation events, wellness activities, recognition programs, milestone celebrations, and other engagement initiatives.
Generates and analyzes reports related to benefits, wellness, and employee engagement programs, providing recommendations for improvements.
Participates in HR and Benefits projects, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional teams to enhance programs and employee experience.
