About The Position

Our DaVita Benefits team provides strategic insights to design and deliver a broad range of competitive benefits to meet our teammates where they are in the moments that matter. We continually measure our impact to stay current with the needs of our teammates and steward available resources. As a Benefits Analyst on our team, you will collaborate with internal and external partners to support our health and welfare benefits, wellness programs, leaves of absence and retirement. This position reports to the Benefits Manager.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Excel Proficiency: Working knowledge of Excel, including basic formulas, Vlookups, and pivot tables to help manage and interpret data sets.
  • Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with or willingness to learn Workday (or other HRIS), Alteryx, and other reporting and analysis tools.
  • Professional Communication: Solid written and verbal communication skills with the ability to participate in effective meetings and discussions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage assigned tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Analytical Thinking: Capacity to review objective and subjective data sources to help identify trends and support action plans.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 0–2 years in a business environment, gathering and using data to solve business problems.
  • 0–1 years working in employee benefits, human resources, or a related internship.
  • Basic experience working with data sources to generate insights through critical thinking and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a solid understanding of benefit plans and processes; learns Workday’s benefit-related Payroll functions, including inbound and outbound file transfers from vendor partners and closed-loop payroll.
  • Researches and responds to routine teammate inquiries regarding enrollment, eligibility, and benefit payroll deductions; escalates complex issues as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and external business partners to support team objectives and drive results.
  • Assists with the design, testing, and implementation of new initiatives, open enrollment, and year-end processes.
  • Helps review existing processes for improvements and automation opportunities; participates in developing potential solutions.
  • Contributes to Benefits projects by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time; assists in planning next steps to improve outcomes.
  • Prioritizes daily tasks and multiple requests with guidance, identifying items that are most critical to address.
  • Assists in presenting benefit information to new teammates and engages with other teams to support benefit education throughout the Village.
  • Contributes assistance and insights to a collaborative, problem-solving team; actively participates in maintaining a positive team culture.
  • Follows established protocols to ensure compliance with benefit regulations, confidentiality of sensitive data, and adherence to all applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Assists in producing recurring and ad hoc reports; learns to retrieve and store source data needed for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
  • Helps audit varied data sets, including hours worked and payroll deductions, to ensure accuracy across systems.
