About The Position

SpaceX is hiring a Benefits Analyst to manage workers’ compensation claims and support employees and managers through the claims process. The role explains benefits and procedures to injured employees, coordinates return-to-work opportunities, and serves as a liaison among employees, leadership, the insurance third-party administrator, medical providers, and consultants. It also works with the on-site safety department on initial incident investigations and claim information, identifies and escalates potential issues, evaluates company exposure, and responds to workers’ compensation subpoenas. Additional responsibilities may include health and welfare benefits and retirement plan administration, company wellness initiatives, employee services, and other workers’ compensation administration. This is an onsite position in the Hawthorne, California area, with occasional extended hours or weekend work and travel to other SpaceX offices as needed.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 2 years of human resources experience in a generalist, benefits administration, leave administration, or workers’ compensation background.
Ability to use independent judgment and prioritize work.
Effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Highly collaborative style and strong team orientation.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced, loosely structured environment.
Must be able to work onsite; the role is not remote or hybrid, and relocation is required if not already local to the Hawthorne, California area.
Ability to work extended hours or weekends occasionally when needed.
Must meet U.S. government export-control eligibility requirements: be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Responsibilities

Manage assigned workers’ compensation claims on an ongoing basis and effectively manage them to closure.
Explain workers’ compensation benefits and procedures to injured employees and coordinate return-to-work opportunities.
Interpret and explain rules, regulations, and procedures to employees and management.
Coordinate the claims process as a liaison among the injured employee, the employee’s leadership team, the insurance third-party administrator, medical providers, and consultants.
Work with the on-site safety department to conduct initial incident investigations and gather information for claims.
Identify apparent red flags and escalate issues for prompt resolution.
Investigate and analyze workers’ compensation claims and determine the extent of the company’s exposure.
Respond to workers’ compensation subpoenas in an expeditious manner.
Perform other assigned duties, including health and welfare benefits and retirement plan administration, wellness initiatives, employee services, and workers’ compensation administration.
Travel to other SpaceX offices as needed.
