JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring legal compliance, operation, and administration of corporate benefit programs including, but not limited to monitoring, tracking, researching, and analyzing claims, fees, and participation data; and reporting and making recommendations for process improvements, systems enhancements, and effective cost control. Responsible for providing expertise and customer service to corporate and business unit human resources staff members to help the corporation achieve its strategic benefit objectives. Requirements

  • Benefits Analyst I Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, related field, or four years of benefits equivalent experience with group insurance (i.e. health and welfare or retirement benefit plans). The equivalent experience must include plan administration, conducting basic research on plan design changes, and assisting in the analysis of costs, trends, and funding approaches.
  • Benefits Analyst II Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, related field, or equivalent experience; and Two years in-depth benefits experience in welfare and qualified plans.
  • Benefits Analyst III Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, related field, or equivalent experience; and Five years in-depth employee benefits program management and compliance experience in welfare and qualified plans.
  • Benefits Analyst IV Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, accounting, related field, or equivalent experience; and Seven years in-depth employee benefit program management, benefits accounting, funding, and compliance experience in welfare and qualified plans.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to persuade and influence others; ability to clearly communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and retirees.
  • Strong customer service skills along with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build and maintain solid internal and external relationships.
  • Knowledge and application of statistical analysis techniques, benefits design, and compliance with employee benefit laws and regulations.
  • Must be a self-motivated, team player with excellent interpersonal skills, and solid facilitation skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate strong knowledge/experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Always maintains confidentiality of employee information.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks, monitors, and analyzes claims, fees, premiums, costs, data and access; reconciles discrepancies; interprets analysis; develops summary reports, including analysis and interpretation for management review and decision making.
  • Makes observations or recommendations for process improvements, systems enhancements, and effective cost control, and interface with corporate accounting to assure accurate tracking.
  • Coordinates, gathers, compiles, and tests data to complete all nondiscrimination and coverage testing, true-up calculations, and/or premium building for various benefit and retirement plans, plan design considerations, compliance, and other requirements.
  • Responsible for implementation and updating of approved benefit changes, and/or regulatory changes (e.g. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) including understanding, designing, and streamlining systems, processes, and procedures; provide assistance in employee benefit communications.
  • Coordinates, completes, and submits benefits surveys; maintains survey results and benchmarks corporate benefit plans against national and industry specific for competitiveness.
  • Provides routine reports of findings to manager.
  • Prepares and presents benefit recommendations, changes, and updates; interfaces with internal and external auditors regarding benefits and retirement plans.
  • Provides requested analysis for mergers, acquisitions, and plan integrations to assure effective integration; compliance with laws, regulations, and policies; and employee satisfaction.
  • Serves as resource for Everus and its companies human resources teams on existing benefits, including plan design, funding, and premium building.
  • Coordinates, researches, reports, and analyzes various benefit requests from senior analysts and manager, including coordination or benefits budget preparation.
  • Provide monthly benefits budget variance reports to manager.
  • Assists with analysis of renewals, plan changes, premium rates, and contract review.
  • Responsible for systems knowledge, including but not limited to tracking, report generation, and plan design implications.
