About The Position

The Benefits Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of both client and internal employee benefits data across the organization. This role oversees the full lifecycle of client benefits data from carrier billing audits and reconciliation to deduction management and regulatory reporting, while minimizing financial risk and supporting the operational efficiency of our benefits programs.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in group benefits administration, benefits data analysis, benefits reconciliation, consolidated billing, or a related role
  • Possesses strong analytical capabilities and a high attention to detail to ensure accurate data processing and report generation
  • Intermediate SQL skills for data querying and manipulation
  • Highly proficient in Excel with advanced formula and data analysis capabilities.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and concurrent priorities
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • A passion for technology and complex problem-solving
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Aptitude to learn and adapt to new data tools and concepts quickly

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with other data tools such as Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, or Tableau is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accuracy of data between GreenSlate’s payroll system and various benefits administration partners, carriers, brokers, and state-mandated benefits programs
  • Manage the billing reconciliation process to ensure GreenSlate is always fully reimbursed for liabilities
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve benefits-related data issues
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor benefits data metrics and trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of the benefits deduction management process
  • Contribute to the enhancements of technical strategies and solution recommendations for the improvement of benefits-related data processes
  • Create and manage the benefits deduction management calendar
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits data to identify potential errors, inconsistencies, and opportunities for process improvement
  • Support annual open enrollment processes through data validation, system configuration testing, and post-enrollment reconciliation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to benefits data compliance and financial controls
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all key benefits data management and reconciliation processes
  • Stay current with relevant federal and state regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, COBRA) impacting benefits data management and reporting
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of new benefits administration technology or integration partners
  • Support the communication and data management requirements related to state-mandated 401(k) retirement programs, Paid Family Leave (PFL) and disability benefits to help ensure compliance with evolving statutory employer obligations
