About The Position

Centor is seeking a Benefits Administrator for its Millersburg Ohio Plant. The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the company’s employee benefit programs. This position serves as a primary resource for employees and leadership regarding benefits, ensuring benefit programs are administered accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The Benefits Administrator will manage medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), wellness programs, and other employee benefit programs as assigned. This role will work closely with employees, benefit carriers, brokers, payroll, and internal leadership to ensure a positive employee experience and accurate benefit administration.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role.
  • Strong working knowledge of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k).
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and resolve problems effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience managing an annual open enrollment process.
  • Experience working directly with benefits brokers and insurance carriers.
  • Experience administering 401(k) plans.
  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other applicable benefits regulations.
  • Experience coordinating employee wellness programs.
  • HR or benefits-related certification such as CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the company’s medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and other benefit programs.
  • Manage employee benefit enrollments, changes, qualifying life events, and terminations.
  • Coordinate benefit eligibility and ensure employee and dependent information is accurate.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and concerns.
  • Work with insurance carriers and brokers to resolve enrollment, billing, claims, and eligibility issues.
  • Maintain accurate benefit records within the HRIS/payroll system.
  • Audit benefit elections, deductions, eligibility, and carrier invoices for accuracy.
  • Coordinate employee communications regarding benefit programs and changes.
  • Coordinate day-to-day administration of the company’s 401(k) plan.
  • Assist employees with enrollment, contribution changes, beneficiary updates, and general plan questions.
  • Work with the retirement plan provider and internal payroll team to resolve issues.
  • Assist with required plan documentation, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Support employee education and communication regarding retirement benefits.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Develop employee communications, enrollment materials, presentations, and schedules.
  • Coordinate with brokers, carriers, and internal departments to ensure a successful enrollment.
  • Review enrollment elections and conduct audits following open enrollment.
  • Assist with employee meetings and education sessions.
  • Coordinate company wellness initiatives and employee wellness events.
  • Work with vendors and benefit partners to develop wellness activities and educational opportunities.
  • Promote employee participation in wellness programs.
  • Track participation and assist with evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Coordinate health fairs, wellness communications, screenings, and related activities as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable federal and state benefits regulations.
  • Assist with compliance requirements related to ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Assist with required benefits notices, reporting, audits, and documentation.
  • Maintain confidential employee and benefits information in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare benefits reports and analysis for HR leadership as requested.
  • Serve as a day-to-day contact for benefits brokers, insurance carriers, retirement plan providers, and other benefit vendors.
  • Assist with reviewing benefit invoices and identifying discrepancies.
  • Help coordinate vendor meetings and resolve employee or company issues.
  • Maintain benefit contracts, plan documents, summaries, and other related records.
  • Provide employees with timely and accurate information regarding benefit eligibility, coverage, enrollment, and changes.
  • Assist employees with understanding plan options and navigating benefit resources.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling employee and dependent information.
  • Escalate complex or sensitive issues to the P&O Manager/HR Manager as appropriate.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist with HRIS data maintenance and reporting.
  • Support employee communications and HR events.
  • Assist with annual compensation and benefit-related projects.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities consistent with the position and department needs.
