About The Position

The Benefits Account Manager will provide support for the Account Executive by performing duties and responsibilities outlined in the job description and Benefits Timeline. This role involves researching and answering client questions regarding benefit plans, claims, and billings, as well as maintaining client data and online binders. The position also includes coordinating workflows, preparing for enrollment meetings, and gathering data for various reports and compliance requirements. The Benefits Account Manager will expand their technical skill set through training and aim for certification and continuing education.

Requirements

  • 24 to 36 months of experience in an Assistant Account Manager role or 24+ months equivalent industry experience.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a major plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Possess basic word processing and spreadsheet computer skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate cooperation and effective communication with clients, vendors, and internally with co-workers.
  • Ability to service clients effectively through problem-solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity, and tactfulness.
  • Operational knowledge of various windows-based application programs such as Excel, Power Point, and current Internet technologies.
  • Willing to work overtime due to the cyclical nature of business (primarily August through December).
  • Masters all Account Manager duties and demonstrates proficiency and how to research and access best practice documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Enter client data into Benefit Point for RFPs, prospect/opportunity reports, and client rate/plan updates.
  • Provide customer service by researching and answering client questions about benefit plans, claims, and billings.
  • Assist the bSwift team with client website setup.
  • Maintain the on-line client binder according to department guidelines.
  • Coordinate workflows according to the Benefits Timeline.
  • Act as a lead for other Account Managers in the absence of the Account Executive.
  • Prepare and release Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to carriers by due dates.
  • Maintain the marketing binder according to Department Guidelines and Benefit Timeline.
  • Follow up with carriers to ensure they have necessary information for quotes, submit missing information, and review quotes for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and review spreadsheets for accuracy.
  • Finalize and review formal proposals, including copying, printing, and binding materials.
  • Prepare and develop communication booklets.
  • Conduct enrollment meetings as necessary.
  • Gather and submit data to carriers for ICAF/Milliman/DMW.
  • Compile information for the Sr. Account Consultant/Executive Team Lead.
  • Create aggregate reports upon request from the Account Executive.
  • Initiate stewardship reports from workflows and activities in Benefit Point.
  • Submit Medicare Part D disclosure letters to clients.
  • Compile data from carriers and submit Schedule A's to clients.
  • Prepare Annual Notices for distribution.
  • Expand technical skill set by participating in technical skill development.
  • Complete Bisys Correspondence courses for major lines of business.
  • Initiate participation in the GBA certification.
  • Attend EBIA Webinars for continuing education.
  • Provide support to Sr. Account Consultant or Account Executive as directed.
