About The Position

We are seeking an exceptionally qualified Benefits Analyst with 2+ years of progressive benefits experience to join our Corporate Total Rewards team. This role oversees large-scale benefits strategy, absence management, vendor contract governance, educational assistance, and complex multi-state compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical acumen, executive-level reporting capabilities, and deep operational familiarity with managing high-volume, decentralized populations consisting of corporate staff, retail store associates, seasonal workers, and distribution center logistics teams. This position supports our health & welfare plans to drive associate retention and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Deep operational familiarity with managing high-volume, decentralized populations consisting of corporate staff, retail store associates, seasonal workers, and distribution center logistics teams.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Expert-level knowledge of federal, state, and local benefit statutes, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, IRS Section 125, and state paid family leave acts.
  • Advanced MS Excel capabilities (XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, Financial/Cost Modeling) to model healthcare spend, self-insured claims trends, and financial impacts.
  • In-depth experience managing top-tier enterprise HRIS solutions (i.e. Workday, ADP Enterprise, SAP) and TPA claims administration portals.
  • Proven ability to review and audit complex legal contracts, plan documents, and SLAs in collaboration with corporate legal teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience creating senior leadership presentations and creating simplified field benefit communications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in large-scale multi-site national operations with high-volume hourly workforces.
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Benefits Team leadership to evaluate, refine, and modernize benefit offerings (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), voluntary benefits, wellness, and leave programs) tailored for store, distribution center, and corporate associate groups.
  • Participate in RFPs and vendor selections and manage ongoing performance metrics for our third-party administrator (TPA), pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), healthcare carrier, and wellness vendor.
  • Analyze large, multi-source datasets (i.e. 401(k), medical/Rx, census, enrollment, payroll data) using available tools such as Excel, to identify trends, summarize utilization, and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Monitor compliance data metrics related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) full-time eligibility tracking, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Form 5500 filings, and non-discrimination testing across multi-state operations.
  • Architect, evaluate, and benchmark company-wide Paid Time Off (PTO), vacation, sick leave, and parental leave policies tailored to multi-tiered store hourly, supply chain, and corporate populations.
  • Ensure full enterprise compliance with rapidly evolving state and local paid leave mandates (e.g., state paid family leave, statutory sick pay) across dozens of operating jurisdictions.
  • Analyze high-volume absence data, leave utilization, and return-to-work metrics to identify operational trends and help mitigate absenteeism costs.
  • Manage the review and administration of benefit-related contracts, including coordinating contract redlines, facilitating stakeholder review, and obtaining necessary approvals in accordance with company policies and governance requirements.
  • Conduct quarterly vendor business reviews (QBRs) and audit vendor performance against contractual metrics for the healthcare carrier, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), dental/vision provider, and 401(k) recordkeeper.
  • Lead the administration, marketing, and expansion of corporate Educational Assistance, Tuition Reimbursement, and Academic Scholarship programs for associates and eligible dependents.
  • Manage external educational platform partner, university network(s), scholarship selection committee, and third-party tuition disbursement platform.
  • Track annual budget utilization, measure associate participation, and perform analysis on educational program ROI and associate retention impact.
  • Lead regulatory compliance and mandatory annual filings, including Form 5500s, ACA 1095-C/1094-C reporting, SARs, Non-Discrimination Testing (NDT), Medicare Part D, and ERISA compliance disclosures.
  • Supports preparation and execution of annual open enrollment, including reviewing communications, and testing the electronic enrollment system.
  • Serves as back-up support for processing of company retirement plan funding and administration.
