About The Position

The Bender Shear Operator is a key position at Jensen Infrastructure, responsible for creating steel cages based on production drawings within the production facility. The structural integrity and quality of the company's products depend on the accurate execution of this role. The operator will primarily work with the cage fabrication, quality control, and production teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing rebar material for precast reinforcing cages within specific tolerances using the rebar bender and shear.
  • Packaging steel reinforcing for transport to the cage department.
  • Utilizing time effectively and organizing the day with fluctuating schedules, ensuring the Bender Shear Operator is one day ahead of the Cage department schedule.
  • Understanding Just-In-Time (JIT) principles and having the right materials ready for the next day’s tasks.
  • Identifying the size of mesh, rebar, and/or cages based on rebar cage drawings.
  • Cutting pieces of rebar and/or mesh into appropriate sizes to assemble cages per drawings by utilizing the bender shear.
  • Bending rebar and steel to appropriate angles and dimensions per drawings.
