About The Position
Nelson Coleman Jewelers, a family business with generations of jewelry expertise, is seeking a skilled Bench Jeweler to create custom pieces and perform expert repairs. This role is within the Technical Services Department and reports to the Store Manager. The work environment is an in-shop repair workshop where personal protective equipment is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or Technical/Vocational equivalent
- 3+ years of jewelry repair, restoration, and design experience
- Accredited Jeweler Professional (AJP) certification required
- Expert knowledge of precious stones, metals, cost estimating, and profitability
- Strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
Responsibilities
- Create custom jewelry pieces from designer specifications
- Perform jewelry repairs, sizing, and restoration
- Conduct quality assurance checks before delivery
- Provide technical consultation to internal sales team
- Manage project timelines and communicate status updates with Repair Coordinator and Store Manager
