About The Position

Perform a variety of operations in the repair of aircraft engine components. This includes deburring, benching, and finishing operations using hand tools, small power tools, and basic machine tools. The role also involves operating specialized equipment such as grit blast, shot peen, vapor blast, resistance tack welder, hot form furnace and press equipment, and tumbling equipment. You will use standard and special gauges, maintain necessary records, and may be required to instruct and train others. Additionally, the position involves using acid-etch equipment, cleaning equipment (ultrasonic tanks, back flushers, waterflow machines, drying ovens), and precision marking equipment. Responsibilities include performing cleanup of the work area, part marking, calculating and measuring powder mixes for coating, performing basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on assigned machines, and assisting with assembly and disassembly operations. You may also be directed to assist other classifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
2 years’ experience with basic use of computers, applications, and keyboarding (e.g., email, Microsoft Excel, etc.)
2 years’ experience in the use of shop math as necessary, including fractions, and decimals
2 years’ experience operating material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license as required
At least 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

Experience operating EDM machines
Demonstrate ability to use standard precision measuring instruments
Experience in benching operations of aircraft engine components
Understanding of how to calculate and weigh accurate powder mixes for coating of aircraft engine components
Experience operating various hand and power tools (die grinders, hand baders, etc.) and basic machine tools and equipment
Ability to learn and operate material handling and lifting devices, including ability to obtain forklift license as required

Responsibilities
