About The Position

The Statler Hotel, located on Cornell University's campus, is renowned as "the premier hotel that teaches." It serves as the practical hotel operations laboratory for the Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration, providing students with hands-on experience in hospitality management. The hotel combines modern elegance with the vibrant energy of campus life, offering guests a unique and immersive stay. With over 150 rooms and state-of-the-art conference facilities, it hosts numerous important events and meetings. The Statler Hotel is committed to excellence in service and hospitality education, making it a cornerstone of Cornell's hospitality program. As a member of the Statler Hotel’s Front Office Team, you will create warm, genuine, and personalized experiences from the moment guests encounter our Bellstand to their exit while delivering a personalized level of service.

Requirements

  • Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion , and wellbeing.

  • A Driver’s License is required along with a clean driving record.
  • Candidate must be able to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Capable of running quickly to obtain/deliver guest cares in a timely manner
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Able to grasp, bend, stoop, and push/pull heavy loads weighing up to 75 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with training peers to perform job tasks.
  • Experience driving vehicles with 9-15 passenger capacities

Responsibilities

  • Assisting guests with luggage to and from their vehicles and guest rooms
  • Managing guest valet services to include maintaining information in the valet parking software, processing payment for day guest parking, and parking vehicles
  • Operating the hotel’s airport shuttle
