About The Position

The Bellman is responsible for welcoming guests upon arrival and providing prompt, courteous assistance with luggage at check-in and check-out. This position serves as a knowledgeable resource on the hotel and surrounding community, supports valet and door operations as needed, and safeguards guest property in accordance with company procedures. The Bellman delivers AAA Parking's standard of Excellence at Every Turn throughout each guest's stay.

Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and management, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Knowledge of (or ability to learn) the property layout and the surrounding community, including local events, dining, and attractions.
If operating vehicles as part of valet coverage: valid driver's license and ability to meet insurability standards per Company policy.
Ability to remain on foot and move about the property frequently for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift, with standard breaks).
Ability to move, lift, push, or pull luggage and packages weighing up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation, using bell carts and other provided equipment.
Ability to traverse guest floors, lobbies, curb areas, and storage rooms, including navigating elevators and doorways with loaded carts.
Ability to work outdoors at the entrance and curb in varying weather conditions.
Ability to exchange accurate information with guests and coworkers in person and by telephone.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in hospitality, bell service, valet, or customer service.
Multilingual skills, particularly in languages, are common to the local guest population.

Responsibilities

Greet all guests upon arrival in a courteous and professional manner.
Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms promptly at check-in and check-out; move items weighing up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation, using bell carts and other provided equipment.
Assist guests by moving luggage to the curb to meet transportation and assist guests entering and exiting automobiles or taxicabs while keeping the white zone clear.
Communicate information about the property and local area, including special events, dining, entertainment, and attractions; assist with general guest information when the Concierge is not available.
Inform arriving guests, while escorting them to their room, of storage areas, restaurant hours, vending/ice machine locations, concierge events, health club information, and emergency procedures, equipment, and exit paths.
Check, secure, and store guest luggage until departure; sign for delayed or lost luggage from airlines and deliver it to the guest's room; complete Lost and Found reports and submit all found articles.
Notify front desk of deliveries for guests and visitors alike.
Direct guests to meeting rooms and other property locations.
Monitor ramp, parking lot and report unauthorized persons, suspicious activity, or safety concerns to security or management.
Hail taxicabs and respond to guest inquiries.
Keep the bell closet clean and organized; clean and polish bell carts daily.
Function as a valet parking attendant or door attendant as business needs require.
Promote hotel functions and facilities.
