About The Position

The Bellman is responsible for assisting guests upon arrival and departure in a courteous and professional manner. This role involves providing detailed information about hotel services, hours of operation, local venues, and area events, as well as assisting the front office as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
  • Fluency in job-related English, both verbal and non-verbal.
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves guest items from cars, buses, vans, and carts, and transports them to guest rooms or meeting rooms.
  • Escorts guests to guest rooms, inspects rooms for deficiencies, and familiarizes guests with amenities.
  • Offers ice to arriving guests.
  • Responds to guest inquiries and provides assistance.
  • Provides directions to nearby attractions.
  • Arranges for taxi services upon guest request.
  • Delivers newspapers, faxes, packages, and mail to guest rooms.
  • Maintains hotel reader boards and public area signage.
  • Cleans and polishes bell carts and other departmental equipment.
  • Maintains a daily guest log sheet.
  • Answers the bell desk phone and provides information.
  • Manages luggage tags and claim tickets.
  • Ensures the hotel entrance and lobby area are clean and presentable.
