About The Position

Assist guests upon arrival and departure in a courteous and professional manner. Provide detailed information to guests regarding hotel services, hours of operation, local venues, and area events. Assist the front office as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Walking and standing for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
  • Fluency in job-related English both verbal and non-verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves guest items from cars, buses, vans, and carts. Carries and/or loads luggage, boxes, and packages onto a bell cart to transport items to guest rooms or meeting rooms (for groups).
  • Escorts guests to guest rooms, visually inspects the room and telephone for deficiencies such as TV remote issues, and informs engineering immediately. Points out room features and directory for reference, familiarizing guests with amenities.
  • Offers ice to each arriving guest upon delivery of luggage.
  • Listens and responds to guest inquiries using a positive and clear voice. Answers questions and offers assistance.
  • Provides directions to nearby attractions.
  • Initiates requests to taxi cab companies upon guest requests.
  • Places newspapers in bags and delivers them to guest rooms.
  • Runs errands for guests, off-property, such as purchasing or picking up items.
  • Delivers faxes, packages, mail, etc., to guest rooms.
  • Maintains and posts hotel reader boards and public area signage.
  • Cleans and polishes bell carts and other equipment used in the department.
  • Maintains a guest log sheet daily.
  • Answers the bell desk phone and provides information as needed.
  • Reads and matches luggage tags, writes claim tickets, and detaches portions to give to guests.
  • Ensures the hotel entrance and lobby area are clean and presentable at all times.
