About The Position

To greet and welcome guests and orient them to the property, constantly striving to achieve the Meadowood Mission at all times. This role involves providing gracious hospitality and ensuring guests have a positive experience from arrival to departure.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience.
  • Must speak, read, write and spell proper English.
  • Basic keyboard skills required.
  • Basic arithmetic required.
  • Must be able to make decisions and perform tasks efficiently, based on logic and sound judgment.
  • Ability to walk over rough, outdoor terrain.
  • Ability to walk up and down outdoor stairs.
  • Ability to bend and kneel to perform cleaning duties.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (10-75 lbs.).

Nice To Haves

  • Napa Valley knowledge a plus.
  • A working knowledge of Spanish would be a definite advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Display a friendly, courteous, and professional manner in all dealings with guests and employees.
  • Arrive for work on time, in correct uniform with name-tag, and sign in to systems at the beginning of the shift.
  • Greet and welcome guests by name as they arrive to register, opening car doors and notifying Guest Services of the guest arrival by name.
  • Explain hotel facilities and answer any questions the guest may have about the property.
  • Recommend Meadowood outlets and services during guests' stay.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, take luggage from guest vehicles to the room, and complete a thorough orientation of the room (including layout, light switches, TV, telephone, private dining menu, directory of services, private bar, bathrobe location, heating/air conditioning, laundry bags, in-room safe, skylight, wake-up service, alarm clock, fireplace).
  • Deliver morning newspapers to guest rooms as required.
  • Deliver all guest messages and faxes to rooms within 15 minutes of receipt.
  • Deliver amenities to rooms in a timely manner.
  • Pick up and deliver laundry for guests, ensuring details are logged for reference.
  • Clean and wash front office vans and golf carts on a daily basis.
  • Respond to requests for rides and luggage assistance in a timely manner, informing PBX of any delays.
  • Conduct property tours upon request.
  • Deliver wine for shipping to receiving in a timely manner, ensuring duplicate forms are correctly completed.
  • Act as a liaison when Guest Service Managers are busy, offering refreshments and engaging guests in conversation.
  • Maintain a tidy lobby area (glass doors are fingerprint free, ashtrays clean, cushions plumped, fire lit, etc.).
  • Ensure the kitchen area is kept neat and tidy.
  • Ensure the highest level of proactive service is offered to guests through effective communication and follow-up with other departments.
  • Be familiar with room types and locations, specifically the degree of difficulty in accessing each room to assist in selecting the best possible room for each guest.
  • Work closely with the Guest Service Manager to coordinate the smooth and efficient handling of guest luggage and follow-up on guest requests.
  • Carry out any reasonable request by management.
  • Keep the front porch, including brass plaques, clean and tidy.
