About The Position

The Bell and Valet Attendant is responsible for greeting guests with a friendly demeanor, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and providing assistance with luggage and transportation. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the valet area and hotel entrance, handling guest requests for items, and ensuring a positive guest experience. The attendant must adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintain a professional appearance, and possess excellent communication skills.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • English required.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Must know and abide by all applicable federal DOT, state, and local driving regulations.
  • Ability to communicate with Team members and guests.
  • Ability to be a TEAM player.
  • Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous guest service, front door or bell service experience in a luxury property preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to drive a manual or standard shift transmission is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with positive body language and a friendly demeanor, adhering to the 10-5 rule.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address their service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Open doors and assist guests/visitors entering and leaving the property.
  • Inform guests of property amenities, services, hours of operation, and local areas of interest.
  • Explain room features to guests.
  • Transport guest luggage to and from guest rooms and/or designated bell area.
  • Assist with luggage storage and retrieval.
  • Assist guests/visitors in and out of vehicles, including loading/unloading luggage.
  • Supply guests with directions.
  • Arrange transportation for guests/visitors and record advance transportation requests.
  • Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, and report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Deliver messages, packages, flowers, wine, and housekeeping items to guest rooms upon request.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations, standards, and hotel rating guidelines.
  • Move at a speed required to respond to work situations.
  • Maintain proper storage and labeling of guest keys and tags.
  • Keep the valet area and front of the hotel entrance neat and free of trash.
  • Share or divide attention among several ongoing activities, projects or assignments.
  • Hand out valet tickets and perform damage inspections of all vehicles before parking.
  • Hang coats and tag luggage for guests.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs/inspections of Valet driveways, parking areas, and Guest Service Storage areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Perform room checks for occupancy and complete room moves for guests.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
