This position involves providing direct care to individuals receiving services, ensuring their safety, rights, confidentiality, comfort, dignity, and a therapeutic environment. The role includes carrying out functions that contribute to the effectiveness and safety of the unit, such as crisis intervention and taking vital signs. The Behavioral Technician is responsible for maintaining inventory supplies, ensuring an environment conducive to recovery, and respecting the rights of individuals to make choices. This role works with clients, families, and team members to create a safe and supportive environment aligned with person-centered planning. The technician will coordinate and/or implement skilled level activities, assist with personal hygiene and daily living activities, and report the condition of individuals to supervisors. They will also prepare written reports, utilize treatment plans, supervise individuals in daily living activities, enforce behavioral limits, and secure/relay information for admissions, discharges, and transfers. Additionally, the role involves observing individuals for changes in physical and mental conditions, monitoring food intake, assisting in group educational sessions, attending meetings and training, and complying with agency policies and regulations. The position requires driving and travel as needed.
