About The Position

The Behavioral Tech II position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned unit(s). They will, by virtue of their role, have primary consumer contact and, in that role, will have influence on consumer treatment and progress. As such, Behavioral Techs are professional staff members with responsibility for supervision and assistance in daily living skills, ensuring safety and wellbeing of consumers, as well as maintenance of a clean, secure therapeutic environment in cooperation with a variety of disciplines, most importantly the nursing staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and manage crisis intervention.
  • Proficient in documenting and maintaining accurate client records.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
  • Ability to adhere to confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or social services environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans for clients, ensuring alignment with therapeutic goals.
  • Monitor and document client behaviors, progress, and any incidents, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities and interventions under the guidance of clinical staff.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed to ensure client and staff safety.
  • Support clients in daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and communicate client needs and progress.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for clients and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health care.
  • Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards in the delivery of care.
