The Behavioral Support Assistant provides individualized and group support, including intensive support for individuals struggling behaviorally. Key duties involve attending meetings, maintaining an organized and safe program environment, and reporting any changes in an individual's health or other pertinent information to Program Administrators, Supervising Psychologist, BIS, and/or nurses. The role requires immediate contact with the medical department in case of injury, seizure, or health status changes. Assistants help individuals with mobility, including in/out of vehicles, toileting, personal hygiene, and transferring/lifting. They are responsible for scheduling and planning activities based on individual needs, submitting written reports on significant events, and maintaining confidentiality. The position also involves implementing behavior plans, using universal precautions, and potentially driving agency vehicles. Certification in CPR, First Aid, SCIP, and AMAP is required and must be maintained.
