About The Position

Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist (BT) Join our dedicated team at Emory Valley Center as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist, where you will play a vital role in supporting adults with dual diagnoses of intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field such as special education, social work, recreational therapy, psychology, or counseling, or actively pursuing such a degree.
  • Valid Tennessee driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional after-hours work and travel.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting individuals with diverse needs.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and agency standards.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence when working with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Applies sound judgment and ethical decision-making in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats.
  • Exhibits a person-centered mindset and promotes individual autonomy and dignity.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask in dynamic environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and electronic documentation systems.
  • Embraces continuous learning and remains current on best practices in IDD and behavioral health services.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with individuals diagnosed with an intellectual or developmental disability is preferred.
  • Experience with group therapy formats is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate group and individual support services tailored to the needs of adults with dual diagnoses
  • Develop and implement therapeutic programming that fosters recovery, social skills, emotional regulation, and independence
  • Utilize a holistic, strengths-based approach aligned with person-centered thinking and recovery principles
  • Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure services reflect individual preferences and goals
  • Promote autonomy and respect for clients’ choices while supporting their progress toward functional living
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with organizational policies
  • Engage with clients, families, and community resources to support ongoing recovery and social integration
